I’m an individual who thrives on solving problems. I’ve got my start early in college, first in student government, where I revised student policy and created my first website with User Centered Design. I was also involved with a startup for a short time, where I helped design an app. At the time I was studying Biology, but soon I realized I got a thrill from design and technology. I was hooked, and every day after my classes I would immerse myself in UX curriculum.
I entered Designlab UX Academy online course, where after 520 hours of project-based work or 3 months, I developed my foundation in design theory while creating this portfolio that demonstrates my expertise. I received continual feedback on my work from expert mentors, connected with other students in an online slack community, and practiced mock interviews. I learned the entire user experience design process and built strong skills in each pillar of UX: from research to ideation, to visual design, to prototyping and testing. On this journey into the design, I developed my ability to communicate my design work, defend designs, and respectfully critique other designs.
I'm Industry ready, and aware of today’s: mobile, web, tablet, and VR patterns. I’m constantly learning every day to keep sharp: reading & writing on medium, watching videos or talking with industry professionals at local meetups.
I am now looking to work for a company that values innovation, collaboration, design thinking, and user-centered design. When not designing or practicing how to code, I'm finishing up my degree in Science Technology and Society at the University of Washington, training on my road bike, or hustling with my e-commerce business.
